But rather than solely focusing on addressing violations, this session spotlights new approaches that center community engagement and encouragement to ultimately achieve long-term compliance. The City of Peoria, Illinois will detail their pioneering approach to code encouragement, which over the last several years has built community trust and greatly improved code compliance. Session leaders will explain how and why they came to use this approach and discuss programs, outreach efforts, and employee development strategies that any city could implement to deliver on the promise of improving their community.
